On an all India basis, the most extensive network is coordinated by the ICAR's All India Coordinated Research Projects on Secondary and Micronutrients, headquartered at the Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal. This project carries out research through collaborative centers located in the states of

Andhra Pradesh

Tamil Nadu
Uttar Pradesh
A large number of on-farm trials on the effect of S on crop productivity have been carried out in several states under the FAO Sulphur trials network. Trials were conducted by the fertiliser industry and the project was coordinated by the Fertiliser Association of India.

In addition, several sulphur research projects are currently operational under the TSI-FAI-IFA sponsored collaborative project on Sulphur in Balanced Fertilisation. Under these programs, on-station as well as on-farm trials have been conducted. Their results, in the form of workshop proceedings are available from TSI and FAI.

The Sulphur Institute has also sponsored research projects on S in various soils and crops in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh (Coordinated by Fertiliser Development and Consultation Organisation).
